Pastor Mike Dodson
After graduating from Culpeper County High School in 1976, Dodson found himself in the military before beginning a career in law enforcement in 1980. He earned his undergraduate degree at St Leo University in 1995, but while later studying in the school’s master of public administration program, he found himself extremely unhappy.
It was through his pastor’s message one Sunday — about dreaming big and praying big — that Dodson says God spoke to him. Dropping out of ODU and enrolling in Liberty Theological Seminary, Dodson earned a masters in pastoral counseling a couple of years ago.
Pastor Mike has been the pastor of New Salem Baptist Church since 2010. He is married to Liesa and has four children.
